Our educators are the most essential component of the Club Z magic and are on the frontlines of shaping and molding our leaders. 

Working closely with our Director of Education, educators execute lessons, participate in on-going teacher and facilitation training, cultivate teen leaders and further develop their own breadth and depth of knowledge in Jewish history.

Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area,  Club Z connects teens to Israel, Jewish history, and each other. With several national chapters and grounded in dynamic and unique educational curricula, Club Z engages students around their Jewish identity, develops their leadership skills, and creates a powerful network of knowledgeable, articulate, and effective activists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute engaging lessons in the framework of Club Z Institute’s curriculum
  • Keep yourself informed about current events in Jewish and American life
  • Use creative approaches to ensure student engagement and participation in sessions 
  • Support and guide students in issues that they face as Jews on their high school campus, with guidance from HQ
  • Help develop and execute leadership training programs for Club Z teens 
  • Actively participate in recruitment events, as well as social and parent/community events to help promote Club Z education
  • Become a mentor to Club Z teens by guiding student behavior to foster achievement, personal responsibility, and critical thinking in all students.

Key Qualification

The ideal candidate is an educator whose expertise and passion have prepared them to teach engaging lessons in the framework of Club Z curriculum:

  • 5+ years of teaching experience in a full-time setting
  • Passion for Israel and Israel education, and the Jewish people
  • Good to excellent understanding of Israel and the Zionist advocacy space
  • Experience in teenage programming and engagement 
  • Knowledge of Jewish/Israel history and understanding of Arab- Israeli conflict
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow as an Educator receiving continuous professional development.  
  • Be able to develop and deliver a lesson that is informal and experiential in nature, working with the Director of Education for direction and assistance. 
  • Strong facilitation skills 
  • An enthusiastic and innovative team player with a strong work ethic, a sense of humor and an ability to take risks and learn from situations.
  • A BA degree from college is required, majors such as History, Jewish History, Political Science, are a major plus. Masters and/or Ph.D. degrees are a big plus. 

Additional Qualifications

  • Collaborative – able to work in a team environment as well as on his/her own with minimal supervision when needed. Comfortable working virtually as well as at an office, meeting in person for Club Z institute sessions and other events
  • Ability to create a welcoming, vibrant, and deeply enriching environment
  • Work occasional evenings, be generally available and reactive to current events requiring action and proactive planning. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Some experience in marketing and communications is a plus
  • Technology competent, willing to learn new tools. 
  • Strong general PC skills, GSuite, MS Office and related tools. Experience with communication, project management and CRM tools is a big plus
  • Past experience as a Madrich(a) a big plus

This is an Exempt, full-time role requiring on-site/in-person presence as well as occasional travel locally, regionally and nationally. Applicants must be authorized to work and be based in the US. This role requires travel to our office location. Also open to part-time Educators
