Club Z connects teens to Israel, Jewish history, and each other. Grounded in dynamic educational curricula, Club Z engages students around their Jewish identity, develops their leadership skills, and creates a powerful network of proactive, passionate, effective advocates. Club Z is a small and steadily growing non-profit looking for awesome talent to join our team as an Educator in the US (New York and Bay Area.

Our educators play a key role in the success of Club Z by working closely with our Director of Education.

You love working with teens. You are creative in your approach to education and are driven with the idea of passing the knowledge of Jewish and Israeli history to the next generation. You know how to connect to teens and are excited to be their mentor and role model.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Execute engaging lessons in the framework of Club Z Institute’s curriculum.
  • Help develop a culture of learning and achievement within the teen community.
  • Plan and execute social events outside of regular institute sessions.
  • Use creative approaches to ensure student engagement and participation in sessions such as one-on-one engagement, shabbatons, etc.
  • Be proactive engaging in issues that Jewish students face on their high school campus, with guidance from HQ.
  • Help develop and execute leadership training program for Club Z teens.
  • Participate in recruitment events, as well as social and parent/community events.
  • Fulfill the role of a mentor to Club Z teens.
  • Be active on social networks, know how to post and promote events.

Key Educator Qualifications

We are looking for a focused, passionate, and a high-energy team member.

  • Passion for Israel and Israel education.
  • Above basic knowledge of Jewish/Israel history and understanding of Arab-Israel conflict, experience teaching Jewish content.
  • Proud Zionist.
  • Be able to develop a lesson plan, work with the Director of Education, willingness to learn.

Additional Requirements

  • Collaborative, able to work in a team environment as well as on his/her own with minimal supervision. Comfortable working virtually as well as at an office.
  • Ability to travel frequently, work occasional evenings, be generally available and reactive to current events requiring action and pro-active planning.
  • Technology savvy, willing to learn new tools and technologies and share your knowledge within the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills complemented by a good writing ability (English).
  • Experience in marketing and communications is a plus.
  • Teen engagement experience on continuous basis as well as during ad-hoc events.
  • Strong general PC skills, GSuite, MS Office and related tools. Experience with Slack, Monday.com, Little Green Light, a CRM and similar apps is a big plus.
  • Be able to fulfill all responsibilities including operational requirement of the role such as keeping track of attendance, reporting to HQ, maintaining up-to-date calendar and related.
  • Help grow the community and feeling of family within Club Z.
  • A degree from college is desirable, majors such as History, Jewish History, Political Science are a major plus, but not required.
  • Be engaging and charismatic.
  • Past experience as a Madrich(a) a big plus.
